Good Sunday morning!

Have any of you ever heard the phrase “God is Good?” it s pretty well known and many people say it but most of the time we do not recognize its true meaning. Last night I had my first fundraiser party! My incredible mama planned it out with me and worked so hard for it to be perfect (which it was) and by the time 7:30pm rolled around we had everything set up and ready to go.

We were all exhausted from the week because of finals, work, and just that morning we delivered Christmas presents to families that could not afford them. After we got home from giving out the presents we kicked it into high gear; cleaning, making food, getting raffles ready, ect. Everything was going great and I was very excited for the party and then my dad got the mail. Let me tell you first hand that getting a letter from the only college you applied to saying that you didn’t get in sucks. it just sucks and all you want to do is cry with a big bowl of ice cream in front of you.

My mom saw how completely broken I was after reading the first sentence of the letter saying I didn’t get in and tried her best to comfort me. I put on my best face and welcomed the few people that came to my party. We had a great time caroling, sitting by the fire, and playing Apples to Apples. I was still feeling sad that not many people showed up and the fact that I had no plan for after the Race, but this morning I decided to just trust in God and trust that He will make a way and I counted out the money my incredible friends gave me and it equaled $200! For my first party where only a couple people showed up I think thats pretty amazing.

God will turn your discouragements and your sadness into praise reports and cheers. Thank God for what you dob have and for what He will provide. Have a great Sunday and Merry Christmas to all.
