I always knew what I was getting myself into when I signed up for The World Race. I would be traveling the world, sharing the gospel with fifty-five, random people who I have never met in my life. While many will find this to be very scary, or intimidating, it is something that I view as incredible.

One of the first people that I met was a girl named Madison. Madison and I have known each other for roughly two months now. We clicked right off the bat, and via Facetime (thanks apple and Steve Jobs), we became good friends and slowly learned more and more about each other every day. If any of you have ever had a so-called “internet friend” you can probably agree with the fact that it sucks when you realize that they live hours upon hours away. But thanks to Southwest and the Wright Brothers, we can conquer that distance! About a month ago, we talked about her booking a flight to come visit me, and we continued to count down the days until we would finally meet face-to-face!

30 days and 348 miles later, Madison landed in Chicago for the weekend. Her and I not only have the same exact way of speaking (except the a’s of course, I am from Chicago), but we have the same humor. Within the short 3 days that she spent here, we never went a moment not laughing our butt’s off– it was the best time of my life. Madison is truly an amazing, beautiful soul as well as a  good friend sent from the Lord Himself.

I cannot help but think to myself that this is beyond crazy– me and fifty five others, belonging to a crazy, hectic, and stressful group message would have never met if it weren’t for The World Race. Thank you Jesus, for sending me a forever friend to laugh with, love with, and glorify You with for a whole nine months straight in a very, very unknown place.

And to think that this is only the beginning of this crazy journey.

Thanks for the never-ending support,
