I've been in Romania for a week now. It's also my first time in Europe. So, here are some things that I've experienced and learned.
- We debrief was in a city called Brasov. It was beautiful and exactly what I envisioned Europe being like
- We went to Peles Castle, which was pretty awesome
- Fresh pastries and coffee make me happy
- Not having to eat spicy food is fantastic
- We live at a summer camp for the month
- So obviously, there are no campers, so we are pretty much the only people except for out contact and the cook.
- Manual labor is our ministry. That included chopping and moving fire wood, digging holes and trenches, and planting flowers and trees
- If it rains, we rest
- If is snows, we rest
- We eat bread at every meal
- We are staying is an introverts dream, rooms shared with only 3 other people and lots of space to find places to hide away, so I am taking full advantage
- We have a fire place! (but can only make a fire a week)
- We had a snow ball fight and went sledding
- Trips are being planed to Hungary, Austria, and maybe even Slovakia! No more missing a country for my 11n11
- Romanian kind of sounds like people are yelling, and that they are always angry
- There is one teeny tiny store about 5 minutes away from the camp, but nothing else in the town
- A slightly bigger town with a coffee shop and slightly bigger store is a taxi ride away
- I am so happy to be back in the right season, I am definitely a season girl
- And finally, God is good, all the time
