Hello from Asia!
Team Summit is safe, sound and surprisingly accustomed to our schedule for month 10. Month 10! It just doesn't seem real.
Thanks to an extra-sweet-and-beautiful squadmate (Rachel Williams) who went hiking for our last few days in Nepal, I was able to cut, edit and laugh my way through all of month 9's clips and produce Life in a Day: Nepal. Thanks again, Rach, for letting me "babysit" your computer while you were gone!
In Nepal, we had the honor of training the future leaders of the church. At Basic Computer and Bible School, our students had a love for the Word, respect for one another and a desire to see the body grow and flourish in Nepal.
I've gotten used to being a short-term gal. We come, we love, we share, we have to leave. It gets tougher each month. There was something so refreshing in Nepal about helping, even in the smallest of ways, to equip followers who will be permanently serving in Nepal. All month, I thought about my students as the true inspirers. They're in it for the long haul, and I could not be prouder.
For Life in a Day, expect to see:
- scenery from a flight around Everest.
- Nepal's Monkey Temple.
- Michelle, shuffling (she does it in every country).
- our dailly treks across a walking bridge and over mud puddles.
- Bible school students, diligently working to develop mad computer skills.
- the "Holy Stones" worship band made up of our uber fashion savvy students.
- Teams Summit and G-Unit, singing "Our God is Greater," or, as our contact liked to call it, "Wine to Water."
- my steps across a rickety wooden bridge in the mountains, over a raging river… sorry, Mom.
- A mountainside baptism, beautiful and peaceful.
