Everyone is always talking about that epic love that people want to experience in their life time. We watch movies about it. We read books about it. We listen to songs about it. And most people would do anything to find their love story, to find the person who looks past their flaws and loves them intensely and deeply.
I have already started my love story and no, I’m not talking about my boyfriend. That is not my True love story. The love story I have is way more epic and way more radical than this world tells us love stories are. My love story is changing me every day. It is so intimate, so intensely captivating, and the kind of love shown in the movies looks weak compared to it. It is unfailing. It is constant. It is breathtaking. It is absolutely 100 percent NOT determined on anything I am. It blows any love this world has to offer out of the water. It is immensely more than I could ever dream of. It is worth anything I own, anything I am. It is bigger than the East to the West. It is deep. It is NEVER ENDING.
God my Father, best friend, Counselor, Comforter, my everything IS my love story. Just Him. If i were to try to take credit for any part of our love story, I would be lying. He is love. Nothing this world could ever offer me will ever compare to the deep, empowering, beautiful love my Father has for me. Its unexplainable. Words don’t do it justice at all. We cannot comprehend this love He has for us. For me. For YOU.
God has been showing me lately how much l look past this fact of Love from Him. We hear it all the time, God loves us. But no, think about it. HE LOVES YOU! Right now, literally right this second, God loves you. Intimately. No matter what you’re doing, what you’ve done, or what you will do GOD LOVES YOU!
I find myself skipping devotions way too often. And when I skip them I feel ashamed and like I shouldn’t lift my eyes to heaven because God’s love isn’t the same when I haven’t spent time with Him. I am so wrong when I think like this. God loves me just as much when I am stepping out of my comfort zone to live across the world for nine months as he does when I am sitting at home, lazily eating Cheetos. It seems ridiculous, but it’s true! Stop trying to hide because you feel like you need to get right for God to love you, He loves you right now! And even if you “got right,” it wouldn’t increase His love for you. He loves you the same right this very instant.
This is the kind of love we could never understand. This world puts out crappy ideas of what love is, and I don’t want to fall for it and I don’t want you to fall for it. God is love. That’s it. So if you ask me, I’d say my love story is pretty epic. It’s pretty bewildering and its better than any movie/book/song you’ve experienced explaining “love.”
And man, do I love Him back.
IF you don’t believe me, ask Him yourself. Get on your knees and ask God if he loves you. Don’t give up till you get an answer.
