Right now, I’m sitting outside enjoying beautiful spring weather and procrastinating on my homework. It’s all good, though. That homework will get done, but I had an urge to share something with you, so I couldn’t wait!

Have you ever heard from God when it was far from what you wanted to hear? Today, I had that moment. It was something God had told me before and today He was reinforcing it. I heard Him yesterday at church, too. In the moments that I noticed He was speaking to me, I really didn’t like it and I can’t say I really like it right now.

But I have peace. It’s unexplainable and part of it is just knowing God’s love for me. I know that God’s plan and timing is so beautiful and so much better than what I could do on my own…

I won’t go into the details here, but I just want to say that God is good. His promises are so good. He wants to lavish this goodness on us. We have a hard time accepting it fully if we aren’t following His commandments with everything that we are.

Here’s just a little bit of Psalm 119… I encourage you to read it all when you have a chance.

“Remember your promise to me;
    it is my only hope.
Your promise revives me;
    it comforts me in all my troubles.
The proud hold me in utter contempt,
    but I do not turn away from your instructions.
I meditate on your age-old regulations;
    Lord, they comfort me.
I become furious with the wicked,
    because they reject your instructions.
Your decrees have been the theme of my songs
    wherever I have lived.
I reflect at night on who you are, O Lord;
    therefore, I obey your instructions.
This is how I spend my life:
    obeying your commandments.”
   — Psalm 119:49-56

Something to Think About:

 What is God’s commandment for you right now and how can you keep it?

Right now, one of mine is to WAIT. I’ve been meditating on Psalm 130:5 to keep this as a constant reminder.
