My parents told me that when I was four years old I went up to my dad in the middle of church and told him that God knows my name and that I wanted to sing for him. I have no memory of this event, but I think of that as the beginning of my experience with God. I was raised in a family that knew that gospel. I was also raised in a family that was in the church as much as possible. Since we were little, my older brother, my younger sister, and I were put on stage to help with worship at our small Spanish-speaking church. I loved singing for God, but I learned at the age of 7 that I needed a personal relationship with Him in order to be saved from my sins.

Today, I don’t really sing that much, but  I realized that serving and ministering to others is vital in my relationship with God. I attend Union University, a Southern Baptist Christian School, where I have learned a lot about ministering and serving others. Since I have been in college, God has been opening different passions in my heart such a children’s ministry, camp and sports ministry, and international and cultural ministry. In May, I will be graduating with a degree in Teaching English as a Second Language. I will be serving students in public schools who come from homes where English is not the first language.  In my free time, I love to run , cook, and spend time with my family and friends. I would definitely rather be outside than inside especially in the summer. Something that I try to pray for daily is for God to let me see others as He sees them and I also pray that others can see me that way as well.

The chance to be involved in ministry is where the Gospel comes alive to me.  It is where I feel the  Holy Spirit  and I can glorify God the most. I would say that when I am serving God, I feel my purpose.  I know that several opportunities and moments in my life have led me to the World Race. I am so amazed that I get a chance to see God around the world while being changed by this journey! I would definitely ask for prayers as funds and preparations begin to happen for my World Race. More stories to come!

              Thank you!
