After a 12 hour shift, the paramedic let me take a picture in the ambulance!

This has been a really big weekend for me. I’ve been doing my “EMT Clinicals” for my EMT certification course. I have a list of tasks that I have to do in the field with paramedics and EMT’s. It’s been going really well. I have been able to put everything I have been learning to use in real world situations. I don’t want to  boast, but I’ve gotten some really nice compliments from the crews I’ve been working with. I will boast in the the Lord, because he has made me able to do something I love. Through this I am reminded that I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.

One of the reasons I am enjoying this so much is the fact that I’m doing it with the mission field in mind.

Not to gross you out, but last year on my trip to Haiti, one of the main things I got to deal with was basic first aid. Dealing with boils, and cleaning sores,  cleaning up people who messed themselves, rubbing the crippled limps of kids in orphanages who are stuck in cribs, and corners 12 hours a day. Surprisingly, none of this really bothered me.  They needed someone to help them, and I got to be the hands of the Lord.  And you know what I’ve noticed? When you are the hands of the Lord for someone, you earn the right to be the mouthpiece of the Lord.

I really like helping people with their physical needs, but my goal is their hearts and souls.

Today my family deserves a big shout out. They are doing a fundraiser yard sale, while I am doing a EMT ride along.

THANKS FAMILY, I LOVE YOU.
