Little India Not Final Stop

Well, debrief time is done and after an all-night bus ride and steep fees for going past our visa stay in Thailand, Teams RockStar, En Gedi, and W.O.W. made it to Georgetown in the Penang state of Malaysia. We had a few days in a hotel (the 5 guys squeezed into a triple) and some time for a cultural briefing to find out that one team would be leaving the island of Penang for the mainland.

Our teams got together and decided to pray about it. Mary's team was for sure staying at the request of the contact (I will not mention contact's names or organizations, but will refer to them in code), Pevensie, so, our team and Greg's team decided to pray into where we should go. The first night we talked and prayed about it, most of us felt like we were meant to go, while most of Greg's team felt like they were meant to stay.  I was saddened that I knew we were meant to go away from the two teams, but I know God has a purpose for it. He did allow us a few days in the beautiful city of Georgetown to hang out with those two teams. So, Little India is NOT Team RockStar's final stop. 😀

Anyways, on Saturday evening, we took the free ferry to the mainland, then a van to our home for the month. We are in a three bedroom home (kind of looks like the homes my team saw in Costa Rica at a teammate's family's house, only a little older in look and feel). Dex, Scotty, and I are sharing a room, while the four girls are sharing the other; unfortunately, us guys have to use the bathroom downstairs, which is a squatty potty and bucket shower…oh well, time to learn some new ways to do things!

Our contact's are an amazing couple, super full of Holy Spirit and the presence of God is all around them. We have many options for ministry this month from kids programs to old folks homes to Burmese refugees and a jungle type ministry for a night or so, all involving lots of intercessory prayer and the love of God. Smiles and our presence will be most of what we provide. He will do the rest! I'm super-excited about this month and what God has to offer and so far Malaysia is GORGEOUS!!

The people are Malay, Chinese, Indian, and other nationalities interspersed in there, so it brings a whole new perspective to things. When we were in Georgetown, we stayed in the heart of Little India, which definitely gave us a foretaste of our 11th month this year. Either way, I've already learned more about myself and about the gifts God has given me. Our contact is a woman of God super on fire for the Lord and wants those of us who can speak and pray in tongues to cultivate that voice (talk about being bold straight up). She was telling me that tongues was to edify the speaker specifically and draw us deeper into God's Throne Room. I was immediately filled up with a desire for more and I know that this month is going to allow me to learn how to enter into His presence like never before. I've been hungry and thirsty for that so much!

Funny thing too…at church we sang a song that the chorus is very close to my soul's prayerful cry:

"O Lord, I hunger for more of You
        Rise up within me
        Let me know your Truth
O Holy Spirit, saturate my soul
And let the life of God
Fill me now, let your healing pow'r
Breathe the life and make me whole
And let the peace of God, let it reign."

So, I am thirsty and hungry for more of Him and His Love, Truth, and Spirit. This month will be interesting, fun, and full of our team growing individually and personally!

'Daddy, let your Spirit rain down upon us and overflow us with YOU!!
We are ready and set to bring your Kingdom! Move in us and around us!!
Abba, Daddy, I love and adore you! Thank you for all you do!!'
