week left) and well it’s been an interesting month to say the least.
When we first got here we were given three options of where we would
want to dive into (Los Pinos, El Horno, or La Finca). I felt strongly
that God wanted and needed me to stay on La Finca, aka ‘The Farm’, where
we are living for the month.
In Los Pinos and El Horno, groups are doing VBS type ministries, as
well as just hanging out and loving on the people. On La Finca has been a
wide range of work to do from painting the living room (Allan’s colors)
to chomping down dead trees in the entrance way (it’s kind of like the
entrance way of a Southern plantation…crazy to think about I know).
Anyways, this month for me has been God pouring into me from just
spending some time with Him on mountaintops to reading books, such as
‘Bruschko’ about a young man who went to the Motilone Indians in
Colombia and brought them to faith in Christ…his journies are
ridiculously insane!
I also read Shaun’s book called ‘Angelic Encounters’ and I must say I
was deeply moved by the stories and Scriptures about angels and their
work in the world. There is a part that talks about the colors of the
rainbow and what those colors represent:
- violet (purity)
- indigo (sovereignty)
- blue (spiritual warfare)
- green (growing)
- yellow (mercy)
- orange (worship)
- red (covenant, blood of Jesus)
As I read this part, I became freshly aware of why most of my clothing
for the year is green and that is because this year will be a year of
growing–growing more in my relationship with God, growing into the man
He created me to be, growing into the fullness of the power of Christ
that dwells within me and so much more. So awesome!
Another part of this book says, ” Our prayers are often prayed in
direct response to divine nudges. We don’t just dream them up all by
ourselves. Therefore, when we pray, we are releasing an invitation or
request back to God. …” This struck me in the heart and I began praying
more diligently and profoundly than ever before, asking bold requests of
the Lord to come down, especially to come down over my family and
protect them and bless them in every way. I am still struggling from
hearing about thing going on back home, yet I rejoice in the fact that
God has already promised to watch over them all and provide for them.
Ridiculous!!
Anyways, thanks for reading and if you could pray for my family that would be awesome!
Also, the angels are rejoicing today for this morning Cristofer, one of
the boys we been hanging out with and who I have caught and prayed for
twice in two services, accepted Jesus Christ as his personal Lord and
Savior! All Glory to Jesus!!!!!! 😀 (The reason for the title for I can
picture God dancing about this! So Awesome!)
