First, we arrived in Swaziland for our 8 month debrief. I subsequently fed a zebra because, clearly, I am in Africa and zebra’s are my neighbors.

Then my team and I drove to our ministry site for the month – beautiful El Shaddai orphanage.
We settled into our cute house for the month.
We took pictures before our first church service because for the first time in months we have a reliable HOT shower and electricity, which we used to blow dry and straighten our hair! Ahh, we felt like new women!
For ministry this first week, I:
Played with the 5 Wiener dogs on our property. I called it my Wiener dog ministry. My team just looked the other way because they know my obsession with small dogs by now.

helped build this trench outside their school
fell in love with this girl …

destroyed this wall in the pig pen
hiked these mountains every day for exercise
and I started this project: I’m crocheting fingerless gloves for 22 girls here!
I’ve had an absolutely awesome week. I’m more exhausted then I’ve ever been on the race! But we’ve hardly suffered for a second here because we get this sunset every night:
 I love Swaziland!
