There are a few emotions we are processing as we prepare to hop continents! Our time here in Africa has been absolutely beautiful. From the rolling landscapes to the lovely people, it will be very hard to say goodbye. But something in my heart tells me I will be back some day. (Don’t worry Mom, that could just mean a vacation) 😉 God has also helped me to be more excited about traveling to Asia and the opportunity to experience another culture.

For those who may not know, Vietnam is a closed country. What does this mean? They officially declare themselves as an atheist state. They “allow” religious freedoms, but there are still many restrictions on religious groups. With that being said, we have been instructed not to use the “M” word = missionary. A few things I want you, my friends, family and supporters to be aware of:

My blog will be password protected (Password: adventure)
We do not know what our communication will look like, but when we do e-mail or text, please be cautious of our limitations in not using “Christian” or “missionary” vocabulary. We’ve been encouraged to refer to our trip as a cultural and humanitarian trip.
Prayers for our safety and success in these conditions would be appreciated!

Thanks and I will post all the pictures from our time in South Africa soon.
