Living in Malaysia for the month is something different from ANYWHERE
else I’ve traveled to over the last 11 months!

Here in Georgetown, Penang, there is a large Indian community.
I look one way down the street and see a Hindu Temple and a Mosque… I look the other way and I see 2 Chinese Buddhist Temples.
Somehow they manage to live together in what appears to be a harmonious manner, but the Spiritual climate here is very heavy and there is a sense of frustration and confusion in the air all around us.

This month we are working with an amazing YWAM base. We serve at a Drop-In center serving breakfast and lunch 3 days a week, where we are able to mingle and minister to hundreds of people from the Georgetown community: elderly, homeless, lady boys, prostitutes, back packers, and more!
The name of the Drop-in center is Kawan… which is MALAYSIAN for Friend.
They recently were gifted with a HUGE house that we have been working on cleaning up and furnishing! My teammate William Diefenbach made this short video (which shows some of the FUN we like to have!) from one of our days at ministry.
MORE TO COME!!!
