The further I get into preparing for the World Race, the more I see God’s hand in everything! He works in ways I never would have guessed and it makes me laugh at how little I realize how this moment could be His hand moving. He really is a good, good Father! Here’s some of the ways I want to remember of His confirmation when it gets hard and discouraging:

  • When we were in Mexico for mission, I felt so at peace and fulfilled and no stress or want for anything
  • Getting to reconnect with a old soccer friend who I haven’t talked to for years and found out she’s the only other one I know from Spokane doing the Race too!
  • Random daily prayers pointing to being a wise and faithful steward in fundraising and in our time- reminding me what is good investment
  • Scripture!! (any and all seem to always speak to my heart;) God is so good!)
  • A route with two Africa countries!!! Last year there wasn’t one so I wasn’t expecting there to be, but I’ve always had a heart for Africa, so it was another confirmation
  • I first found out about the World Race through a podcast and the host’s daughter was going on it. I followed her through it and tried to get in contact with her after, but never heard back from her. So I prayed that God would send me someone I could talk to about this and a few weeks later, I heard their family was moving to Spokane! When they arrived, my dad helped unload and I got to tell her she was who inspired me to go on the race!
  • Poli-Sci professor who challenges everything I believe and really makes me learn that I am never alone even if it seems like everyone around is against me and keeps me grounded in my faith- good preparation for what we might encounter
  • Learning how to lift others up and give them to God as they lean on me more- I can’t “fix” all their hurts or worries, I can just give it Jesus and encourage them… and it is so beautiful

I will probably keep updating this list and I know I’m forgetting all the little things that God sends my way, but isn’t He wonderful? I challenge you to keep your eyes open for those little gifts that may otherwise go unnoticed. His love reminders for us all.

Also- I now know where I will be serving!! I have been called on route 3, Eswatini, Ethiopia and Cambodia! It has been a joy starting to get to know the people I will be living life there with! I could not be more excited about it!=D

Keep me and my squad in your prayers and know your always in mine! And please join me in this ministry God has called us all to!

In Christ,

Abby
