Hey! Jambo! Karibu!

My name is Shelby Robinson, I am 21 years old and I am so excited to have the opportunity to go on the World Race!

Here is a little information about me!

Home for me has always been somewhere between Black Mountain, Old Fort and Marion, NC. Growing up, I spent most of my time on a softball field, basketball court or ankle deep in a creek somewhere. I love my mountains!

I have two wonderful parents, Tammy and Chad. My mom is a Technology Technician in the McDowell County School system and my dad is a Community Care Paramedic and Lieutenant with McDowell EMS. I would not be who I am without them! I have no siblings, but I do have a dog named Sadie and I love her like crazy!

In May of 2017, I graduated from Gardner-Webb University with a BA in Biblical Studies and a minor in Classical Languages. My time at Gardner-Webb has been incredible and I can’t believe that it is coming to an end. My call to ministry began at Gardner-Webb before I stepped foot on campus as a freshman and the community there has nurtured that call ever since. I have so many great brothers and sisters in Christ because of Gardner-Webb and I can’t wait to see how the Lord works in their lives.

Most of my time outside of school was spent at Ross Grove Baptist Church. Ross Grove graciously gave me the chance to start a children’s ministry in November of 2014 and they brought me on staff as the Minister of Students. They have given me so much grace and love as a young minister.

Last summer I got the opportunity to go to Tanzania with a group from Gardner-Webb. To say that my life was changed would be an understatement. Since that trip, I have felt the Lord calling me to a life of more but less. More than the ordinary and less than luxury.

Starting in June 2017, I will be serving at Airport Baptist Church in Greer, SC as the Minister to Students and Families. The Lord has graciously opened the door for me to serve alongside my former Pastor and I could not be more thankful for the opportunity.

I am so excited to see what the Lord is going to do on my journey with the World Race. Give this blog a follow if you want to know all about the journey!

I hope you prayerfully consider financially supporting me on this adventure! If you have any questions feel free to contact me by emailing [email protected] or by clicking Contact Me! in the left hand column!

Peace and Blessings!
