Per World Race training staff orders (!!!) I am writing a blog about one of my training camp experiences.  This camp was structured so that lots of people had lots of wonderful, brilliant, incredible and intimate times with each other and God, but my specific experience happened on the 3rd night during praise and worship time around 9:30pm.

Being a massage therapist, there are qualities I’ve always believed I possess that have helped me foster healing in others.  When I’ve dabbled in purposeful prayer with the Lord, I have offered half-hearted prayers for the ‘spiritual gift’ of healing, not fully asking for this gift or even understanding what the burden/blessing meant.  So when we were challenged to invite the Holy Spirit into ourselves on the third night with intention and ask the Lord for our desires, I asked this time whole-heartedly for God to grant me the gift of healing so that I might travel the world healing the sick in his name!  And I might as well dive into the next thing that happened – I had a vision of countless people lined up in front of me, and I was rubbing my hands together in this bizarre fashion, creating some magic bubble of…something…in between my hands and laying them on people’s maladies.  And they were healed instantly.  When I snapped out of it, my right hand was shaking in what I  can only describe as a Parkinson’s disease tremor and it would not stop.  I found camp leaders and exploded my story on them asking them what it meant and they laughed and said “Honestly Alison?!  That vision wasn’t clear enough??  God has anointed you and answered your prayer! Go and heal!”  So…ok, like, what now?  Just…heal.  No wonder I never earnestly asked for this before because I’m sure some part of me knew I had no idea what I was asking for.  Jimmy, who is a blessed speaker and spiritual leader, pulled me aside and further explained what had happened to me.  He explained that people who have the gift of healing often find themselves having ‘sympathy pains”.  It could be physical, spiritual or psychological.  My hand shaking like I have some insane palsy was God’s physical manifestation showing me the power that was within me, ready to expel.  I could expel this on whomever.  Sometimes God will give me specific people with specific needs and sometimes I’ll be filled and the healing will be random.  He also told me God spoke to him in that moment and told me to place my hands on someone who has diabetes.  So…there you go, blogging community!  Which I’m sure consists of my mother and a few friends…not to freak all y’all out, but your girl Alison is now a POWERFUL, ANOINTED, DAUGHTER OF GOD who will be traveling the nations next year healing the sick, giving sight to the blind and empowering the ‘least of these’ to realize the hope they have in God!  I came to camp with an open mind and am leaving filled with the Spirit and anxious to work!
Please know that I am at nearly $4,000 of fund raising and require $10,000 more to continue the work!  If this story excited you like it did me, please help me with 20 bucks and continue my journey with me!
