In case you haven’t heard, I’m home!
We’ll back home to Thailand that is.
After nearly two years away it feels so good to be back in the Land of Smiles and to be experiencing it in a whole other way.
My squad spent our first week here at the YWAM base in Bangkok, doing our month 8 debrief with X squad, who also left in July. We had sessions in the morning and at night, but we were able to use all the time in between to get out and explore.
My top priority was getting back to GES to see the school/ my students/my friends and it was so sweet! It’s changed so much in my 2 years away, and my former students, who are now in 4th and 5th grades are so grown up! It made me some “homesick” for GES, if it were God’s will I would move back there in a heartbeat!
With some of my former students who are now in 5th grade!
The remainder of our time in BKK I got to use my directional and language skills to show the city to my sisters from team Unchained Rhythm and introduce it to my new teammates for this month on team Tangled as well!

After a 10 hour overnight bus ride we made it to the northern city of Chaing Mai where we’re working with Lighthouse Ministries this month (more on that to come later!). On our second day Emmie, the founder of Lighthouse sent us out to get an understanding of Thai Culture and how Christianity can fit into it, so we went to two temples, Doi Sutep, a touristy temple on top of a mountain, as well as another more local Thai temple set back into the forest.

You also can’t come to Thailand without enjoying some of the fun and unique cultural activities the country has to offer, so on one of our off days we found ourselves getting cozy with elephants, visiting a Hilltribe village, swimming in a waterfall and bamboo rafting.

Boy have I missed Thailand! God has truly made it a special little place on the globe and I’m so excited for the revolution he’s bringing here!
