This blog has absolutely nothing to do
with the World Race, but it has everything to do with me.

For 19 years of my life, I was blessed
with the best mom in the world. Today would have been her birthday,
so today, who she was is the center of my attention and
thoughts. Those of you who knew her, I am sure you are feeling my
pain, and those of you who didn’t, well, you missed out on knowing a
truly amazing person.

You might think I am being biased, but
seriously, my mom was the most influential woman of God I have ever
known. My mom was the definition of a humble servant. She had the
hands and feet of Jesus. She went above and beyond expectation in
everything she did, but she was never boastful about it. She had
integrity. You could tell my mom anything and have complete
confidence that she would listen and genuinely care about what you
had to say. If you asked, she would have wisdom to share with you to
help with any situation. Her heart was filled with Jesus, and He
overflowed in everything she did.

My mom had high expectations for me.
She believed in me with everything she had. I would not be half the
person I am today without her support, guidance, and love. My
character was shaped by her example. She taught me to truly live my
life for Jesus. She taught me how really to put other people first.

Mom,

If you can read this in heaven, know
that I am proud to be your daughter. I was blessed to be raised by
you. I am thankful for all the lessons you taught me with your life.
Thank you for being my best friend all those years. I appreciate all
the sacrifices you made to be my mom. I hope that one day I can be
just a fraction of the Christian, wife, and mother that you were. I
love you and miss you beyond words. Enjoy heaven for me until I get
there.
