What do Airports, cold nights, Port-a-potties, team building, and 280 humans have in common?! WORLD RACE TRAINING CAMP!
Training Camp was 10 days of intense preparation for the next 11 months! Starting in January, I will be serving in 11 different countries as a missionary! This is just parts 1 though, so stay tuned for part 2….
Okay so…
Before I jump right in to training camp, I have to give you a little background on the 24 hours leading up to training camp…
It is 9am the morning before I am set to leave for training camp and a huge $600.00 issue wakes me up. $600 I did not have. Actually in fact, I didn’t have $10 to my name.
The day goes on and it is now 5pm and I still don’t have my big pack, sleeping pad, or sleeping bag. At this point, I am still trusting God, but the midnight hour is coming up. In my mind I am looking for this dramatic financial miracle to occur…..but God was like not quite.
Ha-ha long story short, God came through at the last minute like He ALWAYS does. Just so happens, a former world racer happened to have ALL of her items and let me borrow them!
He once again proved to be My PROVIDER.
Okay, now it is the morning of training camp and I am at the airport… Again, long story short… I missed my flight somehow… Still trying to figure out how that happened.
I was then put on standby… However, when the flight was scheduled to depart, my name was moved to the bottom of the waiting list… So I missed that flight.
It is now the evening… I am at the airport and I am honestly asking… “Are you sure this is your will God?”
In that moment, He steadied me…I received His peace.
I made it to the Atlanta airport that evening. One of the staff members from Adventures waited and I was now on my way to training camp!
So, if you’re a prospective World Racer, let this prove to be a witness of how God always equips those He has called! He and He alone will see you through each step of the way!! Even if training camp is tomorrow…. Wait on the Lord.
