I wrote a blog before the race started about losing the fun in fundraising as I was really struggling with fundraising and it was not fun at all to me. This is a follow up Blog, because I have finally found the fun in it and it really comes from trusting the Lord, which may seem more hard than fun… but wait to see how you feel when He comes through!

So, It is especially hard to fundraise while you are still on the raise. I’ve seen it in myself and in others where you sort of hit this wall and your like “ now, what am I supposed to do?” But rest assured, my lovely, God provides! When God gives you a vision, when He calls you to something, He is lining up the provision well before you send out your first letter. I have watched the world provide in the most miraculous ways on this raise and I am excited to continue to see Him move.

So I have just a few tips that I have found bring back the fun in fundraising:

*Trust God. First and foremost give it to Him. You are going on this trip to honor the Lord right? So trust that Lord you want to honor. He knows what’s up… I mean He’s God.

*Listen closely… sometimes we get wrapped up in the more things we try the better, but most of the time it’s really about the right thing. The Lord is really good about leading us to this thing and taking us in the direction He’s planned. It’s when we get so caught up in our own plans that we lengthen the process or get distracted completely from what He’s got in store for us.

*Thank Him ahead of time. Instead of asking Him so much thank Him already because we can trust our Lord hears us when we call out to Him. Maybe you think this is presumptuous… I think it’s expectant. And we are called to expectancy. Plus I’d like to spend more time on thank you’s than please’s with my Father because we have so much to be thankful for and have been promised so much more.

*Check your account. This may seem like a given but I was only checking my donations account when I knew a donation was coming in, but the Lord was calling people to give that I had no idea about and I was often surprised to see what the Lord did when I checked.

*Just Keep singing… Simply mention that your still fundraising whenever you can. People forget. Mention it on facebook, in emails, etc. you never know who that person will tell that person who will tell the person that wants to donate to you.

*Don’t you worry your pretty little head. Worrying is defective because it gets us caught up in what we can do and leads us to forget the bigness of what God can do. Please don’t spend your time worrying over it. Live your life and find peace in the fact that the Lord’s will, will be done.

Fundraising is a different experience for each of us. But how beautiful it can be when we set our sights on waiting for God’s miracles and move through our fundraising efforts with trust in where the Lord’s taking us and then it happens… you open your account page, and you see it the donation you needed. And whether you smile, or cry, or sit in silence; you relish in the fact that your Lord is good and He brings great joy into things that aren’t really fun in fact often very difficult to do.

Shine bright. Trust God.
