Here on the world race we get to experience many crazy, different things, some awesome, and some…not so pleasant. Here’s just a small glimpse into what a world racer’s life can look like.

Sometimes on the world race, you finally get water and have to decide if you’re going to use it on a bucket shower, or flushing the toilet.

Sometimes on the world race, you wake up to a rat on your foot.

Sometimes on the world race, a rat falls from the ceiling right in front of your face, almost falling onto your head.

Sometimes on the world race, you’re swimming in a river for three hours, then your host tells you there are leaches and poop in the water.

Sometimes on the world race, you get a half sleeve tattoo on a plastic chair overlooking Manila.

Sometimes on the world race, a rat destroys half the teams underwear and are forced to go commando.

Sometimes on the world race, your jeepney (local transportation) ketches on fire and your driver tries to convince you it’s not a big deal, quickly checks it out, then continues on.

Sometimes on the world race, team time consists of doing yoga on top of a mountain overlooking the Philippines.

Sometimes on the world race, you need to quarantine all your close after hanging out with really cool street kids who unfortunately have lice.

Sometimes on the world race, you somehow get talked into eating Balut. ( A duck embryo, including feathers, bones, guts, and the beak. yum.)

Sometimes on the world race, you’re forced to army crawl to the kitchen because bees on steroids dive bomb you.

Sometimes on the world race, we have chaco tan competitions.

Sometimes on the world race, you hit golf balls into an active volcano.

Sometimes on the world race, you sit for seven hours straight while ten different people work on braiding our hair.

Sometimes on the world race, your driver gets pulled over and ticketed for driving white people around.

Sometimes on the world race, you spend 51 hours on a bus.

Sometimes on the world race, you fit seven people on a trike (motorcycle plus side car) when it was made to sit just two.

Sometimes on the world race, you meet people with the names Sun dress, Success, Killer, Innocent, Friday, Please, Thanks, and Happy Coconut.

Sometimes on the world race. you watch Nacho Libre two days in a row…(is for fun.)

Sometimes on the world race, you jump 111 m off the Victoria falls bridge in Zambia.

So there it is, just a small glimpse into my crazy life here on the race.
