So I’ve just arrived and “chillin at the Holiday Inn” (sing it like Chingy). We’ve got a few more days of sessions and goodbyes and then all four squads are off!

This blog is in reply to one of the most frequently asked question, “How and what do you pack for 11 months?” Feast your eyes on this:

 

Here you see (almost) all the contents I stuffed into my 65 liter Osprey and North Face daypack.

I’ve brought: (somewhat listed from top left to bottom right)

  • My tent, 
  • sleeping bag, 
  • travel pillow, 
  • quick dry towel, 
  • washcloth,
  • rain jacket, 
  • journal, bible, kindle, passport, pens and pencils, 
  • sunglasses, 
  • medicine (only one months worth pictured),
  •  electric toothbrush charger (yes, yes I did), 
  • Camelbak water bottle, 
  • soap, hand sanitizer, chapstick, lotion, shower gel, bug spray, body spray, 
  • baby wipes, 
  • sleeping liner (like a sheet), 
  • 4 sticks deodorant, 
  • travel outfit (scarf, chambray shirt, tank, leggings),
  • sleeping pad (mini blow-up air mattress), 
  • shower kit (shower gel, shampoo, conditioner, shower gloves, razor), 
  • blue pouch-make up bag and small toiletries, 
  • purple pouch- nail kit, nail polish, knife, eating utensils, 
  • mousse,
  • carabiners, 
  • headlamp, 
  • eye mask, 
  • Five sports bras, one regular bra, five pairs of socks, 20 pair of underwear,
  • green cord pouch-4 pair of headphones, kindle charger, 2 phone chargers, outlet converter, 1TB passport hard drive, ear plugs, headphone splitters, 
  • catchphrase, 
  • shoes- Crocs sandals, Chacos, Nikes, 
  • Jams portable speaker, 
  • large flower pouch for travel days- toothbrush, hair brush, hair comb, small hair accessories and headbands, more meds, mirror, chapstick, sunscreen, itch lotion, more sanitizer, etc
  • Macbook and power cord, STL baseball cap, stationary not pictured

  • 1 pair nice shorts
  • 3 running shorts
  • 1 pullover sweatshirt
  • 2 bro tanks
  • 3 dri-fit tops
  • 2 tees
  • 1 one-piece swimsuit
  • 3 leggings
  • 1 pair wool socks

 

 

My pack weighs just under 40lbs (the limit was 50 thank you) and my day pack probably weighs 20lbs. So there ya have it 🙂
