This is an excerpt from my journal on April 14th, 2017.

“My daily devotional, Jesus Calling, was rather peculiar for Good Friday. This is what it said:

“But in fact, Christ has been raised from the dead, the first fruits of those who have fallen asleep. For as by a man came death, by a man has come also the resurrection of the dead. For as in Adam all die, so also in Christ shall all be made alive But each in his own order: Christ the first fruits, then at his coming those who belong to Christ.” -1 Corinthians 15:20-23

“We have this as a sure and steadfast anchor of the soul, a hope that enters into the inner place behind the curtain” -Hebrews 6:19

What beautifully hopeful verses for this Good Friday. What promise. I’m so thankful I don’t live in the hope that Jesus will rise- I don’t live in those 3 dark days. I live in the knowledge and fact that He rose again! I live in the light after the tomb, I live in the unconditional love that only Christ can offer. I live forever with the knowledge that Jesus suffered the death that I and my sin deserved because he saw me as worth it

Little Ali Sidoran was and is and always will be worth the pain and suffering of the cross to Christ. I am worthy of His love, because he said so. Nothing I’ve done or will do deserves this, because how could I ever earn favor like that? I can’t. It’s only by his love and grace that I’m called redeemed.”

I hope this Good Friday you all take a moment to pause and thank God for the love He so freely poured out for you. Regardless of what the world names you, you are worth it, you are redeemed.
