Hello friends

I’m hoping this story is a fun one for you and that it’s encouraging as well!

So, as majority of you know (unless we haven’t hung out much then probably not) since my sophomore year of college I’ve been lactose intolerant. Not like a sensitivity thing, like a if I eat 3 spoonfuls of ice cream I projectile vomit all over the place type thing. When I was tested my sophomore year of college my doctor said that there’s very few people he’d ever seen be as intolerant of that type of sugar as me. It’s been a thing for around four years – ya know taking medicine when the coffee shops in Myanmar or Romania don’t have almond milk for my off day latte.

When we got to Guatemala in September one of my teams learned all this about me. They decided they would pray for me so I could eat ice cream with them one day. They repeated this as we waited for the bus a few times throughout the 3 months.

Not much happened then, but I got the privilege of going home for one of my very best friend’s weddings. While I was home, I got to meet up with one of the staff from the Guatemala base we lived at. She decided since there’s definitely no lactose intolerance in Heaven I shouldn’t have to live with it on earth. (Um can I get an amen?) She prayed, I left the USA the next day to meet up with my squad again in Thailand.

I don’t have a lot of free time as a squad leader to be projectile vomiting anywhere so it took a little while to see if anything happened. A couple weeks later I decided I’d test it.

Turns out I’m healed!!

I’ve successfully eaten ice cream a number of times without so much as a bellyache & it’s been the best time. I even got to eat ice cream with some of the team that started praying in Guatemala!

So, thanks God.

It’s fun to know He cares about those things & hears us & heals us.

Until next time,

Alexis
