Last year I had the opportunity to stay in Ethiopia for a month visiting different ministries, primarily orphanages, and experience life there. Not a day has gone by since then that I haven’t thought of the children I met, the stories of the many people, and the needs they have. In December, I couldn’t fight against the fact that God had put the orphaned, the widowed, and the oppressed in my heart. Desiring to visit Ethiopia again and spend a larger portion of time serving, I applied for the World Race… and I have been accepted! Here’s a little more information about the WR:

What is the World Race?

The World Race is a ministry dedicated to sharing the love of Christ through acts of love around the world. It is part of the organization Adventures in Missions (AIM) that offers many different opportunities for missions to many different people. Over the course of 11 months I will be experiencing raw community, discipleship, surrender, and serving the “the least of these.”

Where is the World Race?

It will take place in 11 different countries around the world. There are several different routes throughout the year that will each go to different countries. I am on Route 5 of Sept ’15 which will take me through Africa, Asia, and Central America. Specifically I will be going to these countries (in this order): Uganda, Rwanda, Ethiopia, India, Nepal, Malaysia, Thailand, Cambodia, Guatemala, Honduras, and Nicaragua.

What will you be doing?

We will be partnering with established ministries in each country that work alongside AIM. Ministry will look different country to country and sometimes day to day, but our ultimate goal is to follow the Holy Spirit’s prompting and serve the people around us. We may be serving the poor, the orphaned, the widowed, the sick, the disabled, the trafficked, and anyone else God may put in our teams path.

How are you going?

This trip is not possible without the work of the Spirit and the help of the community around me. I will be raising support for funds (the total cost of the trip is a little over $16,000) and asking for a ministry based on a prayer from anyone who is willing to partner with me. If you are interested in joining me on this exciting journey, please let me know!

I would love for you to follow me as I take this journey. I will be periodically posting blogs here leading up to the trip in September. After starting I hope to blog more as I experience the ministries, challenges, and the work of God there! If you have any questions or want to hear more, please contact me. I would love to talk!

Matthew 25:40
‘Truly I say to you, to the extent that you did it to one of these brothers of Mine, even the least of them, you did it to Me.’
