1 Korinthe 12 : 12 – 18
Want zoals het lichaam één is en veel leden heeft, en al de leden van die ene lichaam, hoewel het er veel zijn, één lichaam zijn, zo is het ook met Christus. Ook wij allen immers zijn door één Geest tot één lichaam gedoopt, hetzij dat wij Joden zijn, hetzij Grieken, het zij slaven, hetzij vrijen; en wij allen zijn van één geest doordrenkt. Want ook het lichaam bestaat niet uit één lid, maar uit vele. Als de voet zou zeggen: Omdat ik geen hand ben, ben ik niet van het lichaam, is hij daarom dan niet van het lichaam? En als het oor zou zeggen: Omdat ik geen oog ben, ben ik niet van het lichaam, is het daarom dan niet van het lichaam? Als het hele lichaam oog was, waar zou het gehoor zijn? Als het hele lichaam gehoor was, waar zou de reuk zijn?
Maar nu heeft God de leden, elk van hen afzonderlijk, in het lichaam een plaats gegeven zoals Hij gewild heeft.
Dit is een van de gedeelten in de bijbel die mij de afgelopen maanden echt overheid heeft gehouden. Deze zendingsreis is voornamelijk gericht op ‘gewoon leven met God en Zijn stem verstaan en deze gehoorzamen’ nu is het leven met Jezus niet een religie maar een Relatie die niet alleen op Zondag daar is maar elke dag van ons leven. Het is niet zo dat je alleen over Jezus verteld als je op zendingsreis bent, maar dit zou door ons hele dagelijks leven heen moeten gebeuren, een levensstijl. Dat is wat Jezus ons opdraagt in Matt. 28: 19.
Wij als team bidden gezamenlijk altijd om woorden van God voor de dag of de week. Wij vragen Hem wat Hij voor ons heeft die dag. Dat kan van alles zijn, een woord van bemoediging voor ons, een opdracht om erop uit te gaan en mensen te ontmoeten, om naar een bepaalde plek of stad te reizen. Het is zo uitgebreid. Ik moet zeggen dat aan het begin van deze reis, ik heel vaak duidelijk iets van God te horen of te zien kreeg voor het team. Ik had vaak een gevoel van wat zijn wens en gedachten waren voor die dag of week. Maar niet de afgelopen maanden. Het was still… en ik had daar in het begin best wel moeite mee. Waar was die duidelijke stem die ik hoorde van mijn God die mij leid?
Afgelopen maand in India legde ik deze vraag bij God voor en vroeg aan de heilige geest mij daarover meer duidelijkheid te geven. Toen kwam deze tekst naar boven. Wij zijn allen van één lichaam. Hij vertelde mij te vertrouwen op mijn teamgenootjes, dat zij ook de stem van God konden verstaan en horen. Dat ik niet de enige was die Hem zo duidelijk kon horen. Het was een leer moment. God was opzettelijk stil, zodat ik meer en meer op hem kon vertrouwen en op het lichaam dat Hij samen had gebracht voor deze tijd. Ik kon het loslaten en begon me meer en meer te richten op mijn relatie met Hem en begon eerst het koninkrijk te zoeken en zijn gerechtigheid. Ik vertrouw Hem steeds meer en meer en wanneer ik dat doe, dat echt alle andere dingen vanzelf zullen komen. Ik ben niet alleen in mijn relatie met Jezus, ik heb om mij heen een lichaam van christenen die ook de stem van God horen door zijn Heilige Geest. Want Wij zijn allen doordrenkt van één geest, de geest van God.
Het was geweldig om te zien hoe God door mijn teamgenootjes heen heeft gewerkt de afgelopen maanden. Het was echt een bemoediging voor mijzelf dat God ons allemaal gebruikt! En dat daardoor zoveel geweldige dingen gebeuren en dat ik daar deel van uit mag maken op mijn manier! Wauw God is echt goed.

For just as the body is one and has many members, and all the members of the body, though many, are one body, so it is with Christ. For in one Spirit we are all baptized into one body – jews or Greeks, slaves or free – and all we were made to drink of one Spirit. For the body does not consist of one member but of many, if the foot should say: Because I am not a hand, I do not belong to the body, that would not make it any less a part of the body. And if the ear should say: Because I am not an eye, I do not belong to the body, that would not make it any less a part of the body. If the whole body were an eye, where would be the sense of hearing? If the whole body were an ear, where would bet he sense of smell?
But as it is, God arranged the members in the body, each one of them, as he chose.
This is one of the passages from the Bible that really helped me stand on my feet. This missiontrip is mostly based on ‘living with God and hearing His voice and obeying what He is telling me.’ The life with Jezus is not a religion, but a relationship thats not only there on Sunday, but everydat of our lives. You do not only tell people about Jesus when your on a missiontrip, but this should bet here everyday of our lives, like a lifestyle. This is what Jesus calls us to in Matt. 28 : 19.
We as a team pray together always, to hear words of God for the day or the week. We ask Him what He has for us that day. This can be a lot of things, a word of encouragement for us, a word to go out and meet people, to go to a certain place or city. It literally can be anything. I must say, at the beginning of the race, I heard a lot from the Lord for the team. It was often really clear, what Gods wishes or thoughts were for that day or week. But not these past couple of months. It was really quiet… And I struggled with that a lot in the beginning. Where was that clear voice of God that I heard so often that leads me where to go.
This past month in India, I asked God and the Holy Spirit to give me more insight on this matter. Then He showed me this passage. We all are ONE body. He told me to trust my teammates more, that they could here the voice of God also. That I was not the only one that could. It was such a learning experience. God was silent on purpose, so that I could trust Him more and on the body that he arranged together for this couple of months. I finally could let is all go and began to focus more on my relationship with Him. I started to seek first the kingdom and His righteousness. I do trust Him more and more and when I do, I know that all the other things will come. I am not alone in my relationship with Jesus, I have a whole body of Christians, that also hear the voice of God thru His Holy Spirit. Because all we were made to drink of one Spirit.
It was awesome to see how God worked thru my teammates the past couple of months. It was a real encouragement for myself, that God really uses us all. And because of that, there are happening a lot of great things. And I feel so blessed to be a part of that. God is really good!
