Month 9. I never really felt like this time would come, but here we are in Myanmar embarking on our very last month of The World Race.

My team is about 15 hours north of everyone else on our squad in a small town called Hakha, Myanmar. For the next three weeks, I am blessed to call this place home.

I have been living here for a total of 3 days and this town already has my heart. I mean, this place is absolutely beautiful. We are living in the mountains surrounded by cool air, fluffy clouds, and colorful houses. The people here are even more beautiful. We are constantly greeted with smiles and people daring to try out their English asking us how we are or where we are from.

The town is full of Christian influence. We see churches of all different denominations on every corner and we have already had more than a few conversations about Jesus! In fact, our ministry host tells us there are 50-60 churches in Hakah alone! The more and more we explore this little town, the more I fall in love with this place.

This is somewhat absurd for Myanmar as the country is ranked #18 on the list of countries in the whole world where Christians are facing the most persecution. A friend I have already made here tells me that 80% of Myanmar is Buddhist and 70% of Christians in that slim percentage of other religions live here in Hakha.

My team and I are renting rooms in the middle of it all. We are staying at the lovely Junction Guest House with the best accommodations right in our budget.

Our life here looks promising and I am beyond excited to see what all it has in store.

Tomorrow will be my first day at ministry. My team and I will be volunteering at Mount Caramel International School where we are told we will be teaching English and Bible classes. I truly have no idea what to except, but I cannot wait to update my blog all about our final ministry.

In order to really press into these short 3 weeks, my team has decided to do a phone fast. This means that each of us has given up some aspect of using our phone whether thats Netflix, music, social media, or texting family and friends back home. So, you will not see me on social media or be getting any texts from me for the next three weeks, but keep checking on my blog to hear from me! (:
