After a week that felt like it was going to drag on forever, I have finally been gifted a day of rest. Just like everyone else in the World I get days off and they feel pretty normal. So everyone, here’s a little sneak peak of what this off day looks like.
After staying up until 1:30 a.m. (Crazy!!!!! I know.) I laid in bed until around 10. It’s been cloudy and windy all day, perfect weather to lay around. I finally made my way to the kitchen and made myself eggs and toast for breakfast. Shortly after eating; 8 out of the 13 of us went to a farm and the mountains for the day and I stayed behind to catch up on rest. I instantly had the idea to serve all of my housemates and started cleaning around the house. That lasted a while, but I was glad I did it. After cleaning Kendall, Noah, and I went for a walk around town, we ended up at the grocery store for some fun lunch supplies, and my favorite– homemade cinnamon roll supplies. Then we trekked our way back to our cozy home, and I got to work making cinnamon rolls, while having good conversations with my good friends. Soon enough my dough was formed, and it was cinnamoned and sugared PERFECTLY, and thennnnnn…. Our host decided to take Kendall, Noah, and I out for coffee! I quickly wrapped up the unbaked rolls and headed out the door. First stop the five of us made; the grocery store, because Tanya (our host, our South African mom) needed to pick up supplies to make us dinner tonight. Second stop; THE GARBAGE DUMP! Had to dropped off all of our garbage from the week. Third stop; Wimpy! (Kinda diner fast food place) Ate some cheesecake and drank a mocha! Yum! Once we finished we hopped in the car and made our way back home. Once there, I popped the cinnamon rolls in the oven, whipped together a cream cheese icing, and waited. Soon enough they were done, and let them cool and wait until later to eat. A while went by and Noah started to construct a blanket fort in our living room. As soon as the project was completed Noah, Kendall, and I piled in and I’m currently writing this blog from inside the fort while also watching Mama Mia. Days like these make me smiled, days like these are a lot more normal than I expected to have, days like these are so good.
Now this blog might not be the usual blog, but today has been good and I’m glad to share it.
