Prayer Request: Sounds of Cambodia

I wake up every morning to the soft patterings of what sounds like a tropical xylophone and an Ice Cream truck jingle blended then played on repeat. It’s beautiful and soothing to me. This is just one of the many sounds of Cambodia:

-Laughter, screaming and clapping as children play in a nearby dirt field.

-Causal greetings at the local food stands and along the roadside.

-The bustling of traffic on the the major road going towards and away from downtown Siem Reap.

-The chomping of grazing cattle and they casually stroll.

-Street dogs barking apprehensively as people walk, bike, or drive pass.

-The sound of the Tuk Tuk’s hitting every ditch on the uneven road as the driver brings the passenger to their destination.

-Crowing roosters as the hens and baby chicks strut around in search of the next meal.

-Afternoon torrential downpours that fills the land, subsides and gives way to Lotus flowers ready for picking or rice for eating.

PRAYER REQUEST

This Saturday June 23rd we will be introducing a different sound. The sound of the Cambodian women of all ages coming together to share, make new friends, and be introduced to the gospel. Our team has been faithfully preparing for our ministry event called “Beauty for Ashes”. This program was created by Adventures In Missions and one of my teammates was trained to be able to share it while on the field. The vision is to see women serving as ambassadors for change and healing in their home community.

–>That this day be only one of the endless moments bringing HOPE and LIGHT to the people of Cambodia.

–>The atmosphere be light, the women feel loved and trust is established.

–>The women’s hearts be open and interested in pursuing contacts we provide.

–>Our team see the hearts of the women, move as God prompts us, and are able to support each other in all parts.
