I recently read a quote that stuck with me. I pray to reflect God’s transforming love as it is the basis of my faith and the best thing anyone could encounter.

The quote was in regards to the church and love…

 “The was no love in the church. It was a mask for self hatred and despair. THe transfiguring power of the Holy Spirit ended when the service ended and salvation stopped at the church door. When we we were told to love everybody, I had thought that meant everybody. But no. It applied only to those who believed as we did […]”

James Baldwin

Since it was given out of context I am open if you (the reader) would like to respectfully contribute. But The theme of love stayed with me. Also appropriate for this day; February 14th….

People talk about love like its some magical thing that happens. Be it with friends, family or romantically. Don’t get me wrong there is a beauty to it, worthy of ethereal allusions.

        But love is a choice and a series of choices over a life time. I’ve seen the fickleness that lies in the human heart for those we thought to hold dear. Such duality/flippant change from mind that leads to heart.

         The cruel tricks a heart plays, even to its own! Love as deep and as many as blades of grass. Follow your heart…What a dangerous motto to live.

          So I question love, I question affection and formalities. Hugs, kisses, shared space, mirroring, delicately formulated speeches, shared time; Circumstantial but I guess it is…Love

          Can conditional love really count?

          I would wholeheartedly declare my love as real but then everyone has a breaking point. A fire that makes their love change for better or worse, change! Some seasons for better; a lot of seasons worse.

Pure love is God. Whole new realm of love.

           Love as a lifestyle, Love as a limitless experience, love as a journey

           Love as a rush of newness, Love as in faithfulness, Love as gentle, Love as

           just.

Love as in changing, always better though sometimes feeling like worse. Love as in protection; inside and out.

My love, our love;

                   Love itself, made perfect in you. (God)
