Wow, wow, wow…the past 10 days in Vietnam have been amazing!! So sorry I haven’t been keeping up with my blog as much the past few months…so I am going to try to fill you all in on what’s been going on in my life the best I can in 1 blog post:
Cambodia Unsung Heroes: In Cambodia, my last team (Team i:61) and Team Overflow were able to participate in Unsung Heroes for the month. Our job the entire month was to find new ministry partners in the city of Siem Reap that future World Race teams could work alongside in the days and months to come. The networker within me came ALIVE as we found new contacts throughout the city. Cambodia is a Buddhist country, and there are non-profit organizations around every corner…however, many of the organizations do not like being affiliated with Christians which made finding new ministry hosts a bit difficult at times. By the end of the month, our team made 4 new contacts which was AMAZING because now Racers in the future will be able to work with the partners that we found!
Thanksgiving: We had the best Thanksgiving Day abroad! The long-term missionary team we stayed with for the month invited us to spend the afternoon at their house where we watched a 2012 Thanksgiving Day NFL re-run, drank tons of coffee, and ate lots of snacks. Some of us even played corn hole in the back yard! Then in the evening we had a feast at one of the local restaurants in town. The man who owned the restaurant was a Southerner from Georgia and he imported an entire Thanksgiving dinner #blessed. We had turkey, sweet potato casserole, mashed potatoes, green beans, cranberry sauce, pumpkin/apple/pecan pie & SWEET TEA!!! It was truly an amazing Thanksgiving abroad.
Team change!: We had our first team change at the end of month 4 (Team i:61 I’ll never forget you <3). I’m now on my first co-ed team (Team Zion) and loving every second of it! Be sure to subscribe to my new teammates blogs using the same password “wonderchurch” to keep up!

Welcome to Vietnam: Our first 10 days in Nam have been jam-packed with helping put on the “Merry Christmas Da Nang” show (Vietnam is primarily Buddhist country, so it was amazing seeing the Gospel spread through the Christmas show) and English lessons (we use English lessons to teach our classes–consisting of mostly Buddhist women–about who Jesus is and how much He loves them). So many people are eager to hear the story of Jesus. It has been an honor getting to share with people the Good News that Jesus has come! We have had a blast getting to know so many people in the community here and we’re excited to see what the rest of the month holds!
