Today was officially our first day of ministry. We got up and had breakfast with the family and then got ready to go out.
The plan was to go to a village nearby where there is a church plant and go door to door and invite people to the service tonight. Pastor Javier prayed for us before we went out.

We headed over to the village and split up into two groups. Hugh, Kim, Jessica S., Corey and some other members of the church that we are staying at were in one group. Laura, Paul, Jessica F., Augustine, Isaiah (the pastor at the church we were going to invite people to), and another member of Pastor Javiers church were in the other group. No one in the second group was an interpreter. So we started going door to door.

The first group came to a house and there was a lady who told them that she used to go to a church, but she stopped going because she had problems there. She fell away and started drinking. They asked her if they could pray for her and she broke down and said yes. She said that she was ready to come back to the Lord. So they prayed over her. Corey felt like the Lord was telling him to tell her that the Lord has already forgiven her sins and that God loves her, but before he could say it Hugh said it. She came to the service tonight. The second group started out and the first house we came to, they invited us inside. We went in and shook their hands. There were two women there. Augustine talked to them for a while and explained who we were and why we were there. Then asked if we could pray for them. The older lady said that the other one was sick and she wanted us to pray for her. So we went and laid hands on her and prayed. When we were done she had tears in her eyes and turned and looked at me and said my hands were hot. I knew what had happened, but I couldnt communicate with her. Augustine talked to her for a little while and then we left.

When we were all done going around and met back up with the other group Augustine told Corey what she said so Corey could tell us. She said that when we came in and shook her hand that mine was hot. She had been sick and the Lord healed her and she felt the healing come through her when she shook my hand. Praise the Lord. The church in that village only has three people who attend. Tonight there were around ten people. Laura, Kim, Jessica S. and I did kids ministry. We played games with them and just loved on them. They were so much fun. The pastor told Corey that a few years ago that he had a vision of Americans coming to the village and opening up the flood gates. He said when he saw us drive up that he knew it was us. The car that he saw in his vision was ours.

Please keep this village in your prayers. They will definitely be in our hearts forever.
