Welcome to Palenque our faithful readers!!! Before I get into life here, quick side note. There is a 01.30.06 blog written by Jessica F. that will be uploaded as soon as we find a wireless connection. It will give you the beautiful details of the trip here to Palenque.
Life here is incredible. We go to sleep and wake up to the sounds of rushing waterfalls and screeching monkeys (no sitings yet, but we´ll keep you posted!). We are actually sleeping at Misol´ha, about 30 minutes to an hour from Palenque. Its a treacherous drive up steep winding roads that brings our lives a little closer to Jesus and our stomachs a little closer to our mouths. The view is amazing. We look down steep cliffs over green rolling hills and rushing rivers. This is definitely a far cry from the border towns we see in the movies. Since arriving we have worshipped as a group at the waterfalls at Misol´ha, the beautiful clear river and numerous cascades at Aguazul, and in the shadow of the giant Myan temples.
It´s great to be back with all the teams again. God has been moving in awesome ways in every situation since we left Matamoros. Be sure to check out the Red Teams stories of how God continued to Sovereignly break down their van in the perfect spot – right next to a mechanic or a friend of the translator. I love hearing the great stories of how each team, in different situations, would stop, listen to the Lord, obey His voice, and see amazing things happen. Our God is so incredibly faithful!
Bob Waag, from Matamoros, has come down to help us debrief this part of the trip. God does so many amazing things and there are so many life changes that happen in such a short period of time that it´s highly important to take this time to process exactly what happened. We are telling stories of the great things of the Lord and we are processing the heart changes that are already so major. We are also discussing problems or things to tweak and improving the trip for the next 10 months.
Thanks for all your prayers. Thanks for your comments and your encouragement. You are all greatly appreciated!
