Well here in Egypt we have had some great opportunities to serve the Lord. Being completely honest it was difficult for me at first figuring out what to do and why are we here. Let me explain. We ended up coming to Egypt early and so we wanted to use the time to minister. well on short notice sordof, we managed to make contact with a friend and work for about 10 days in a Coptic Orhodox Church, not exactly like my Baptist church back in Iowa. But i was able to find ways to minister and tell others the gospel. That was one thing i learned. no matter where i am even in a church that is very different. the message i have is the same. The gospel is always the same. So i shared the gospel, and i didnt want my words or western mindset to influence and maybe distort the message, so i stayed on safe ground and just read scripture and kept my finger on the page. Which by the way is what i should be doing all the time. well our time in Egypt is done and we were able to do many things for the Lord. Work with orphans, do dramas for the church and a host of other things. Please pray for us as we hit the home stretch of our time on the trip. I know many of you have been faithful in prayer for me and my team. I have two prayer requests that are very important and immediate.
First the group as a whole is very low on funds. there are several americans on our teams that dont have full support, and so i want to ask you to be in prayer for them as they need funds to finish out the year. The other is for our team and its unity. We are in a dangerous place with the finances. Money can be a divisive issue and we dont want to be divided. So my second prayer request is that as we struggle with our situation and the finances pray that we dont allow this to become our focus and we dont allow this to divide us from one another. The Gospel is number 1. we need to live our lives as we are unified to share the gospel with those we come in contact. I love my brothers and sisters on this trip, and i dont want this to seperate me from them. please pray for me for this, i want to thank you for praying for us and i want you to know that we feel your prayers. this trip could not be done without your prayer support.
