Pattaya, Thailand has stolen my heart away. I feel like my heart has been stolen many times this year, but I guess if you’ve got love in your heart, its good to let it get stolen away by places that need it. So, here are pictures from the most recent culprit.
The “Hollywood” sign at the pier.
Riding with Taan (translator) and Meredith on the Sung Tao (back of a truck with a roof you ride in).
The entrance to Walking Street. One of the most famous sex-trade streets in the world.
On Walking Street. It was very dark. I often felt the weight of the darkness so heavily that
I could not breathe and felt a literal weight on my chest.
A white man and a Thai girl. They are often bought for weeks or months at a time by one man.
A typical bar.
My girl, Tang.
The beach that follows parallel to Walking Street.
It is a beautiful city.
The Tamar Center is the ministry we worked with. They get girls out of the bars
and bring them in to teach them English and a trade.
English classes with the Thai girls.
Me and Fon. She was one of my favorites who now works at Tamar. She was in the bars for
9 months after her husband forced her there for money. She went to the Tamar Center four years ago
and saw the love of Christ. She has been ministering and working with them ever since.
Some of the random fruits you can find on the side of the road. I did not try them.
I did, however, try these. Thai style BBQ.
Only in Thailand is there a whole aisle in the “Wal-Mart” store for helmets and scooter gear.
The slightly abnormal mannequins that stalked us on the streets.
For all my family members out there.
We went to the Elephant Park and Monkey School one afternoon.
Thai guy with a bunch of butts.
Us after just having led these two bar girls to Christ. Kung and Ta.
I hope you have enjoyed this little tour through Pattaya. Come again sometime! And remember,
Thailand is the “Land of Smiles!”
