Hi Everyone – I just wanted to update you further as we have knowledge about Tana’s situation. It’s a little late in coming, so we will let you know when we know more.
Talia and Alissa visited Tana Turner in the hospital in Athens, GA on Friday afternoon, and though only had a moment to spend with Tana and pray, we were able to talk with her aunt, cousins and friends that were at the hospital. She is doing better, her head bandages are off, and she was able to talk with us for a minute and enjoy the smoothie brought her.
As of Friday, her brother Brandon was in the hospital in Greenville, SC, and both parents were there with him. His brain was hemoraging in all areas and was suffering internal bleeding, and on life support. Please lift up Tana, Brandon, and the family in your prayers. Tana’s desire is to still take part in the race, and though her recovery process may indeed hinder aspects for now, please pray that the enemy will not quelch the opportunity for her, even if the timing is different. I am reminded how much of a battle we are in right now, and that prayer and fasting are such an intregal part of the mission God has called us to. We are called to hold eachothers arms up in support, to bear one another’s burdens, and to be the body of Christ, and this is what we are a part of now.
Steven McBride (Team B) also visited Tana, and this is what his update was:
I also visited Tana today (Sun.)I got to visit with her for a while, actually for longer than I thought I would. She was glad to have a visitor although it takes alot out of her. She is doing well and hopes to be released sometime around Friday. She has a great outlook on the situation which I was very glad to see. She told me she was able to walk to the nurse’s station and back to her room this morning, which is good.
As far as her brother goes he is still in a coma, but one doctor said he has seen people in worse shape and they recovered so that is great news. Tana’s cousin told me that he is semi-responsive, meaning that when they talk to him to tell him someone is there he moves slightly in their direction. Also great news.
They both still need to be remembered in our prayers, but I have all the confidence in my God that they are going to be well and this will have no effect on Tana’s trip next year. I believe that it is God’s will for her to be with us on this trip and Satan can’t do anything to stop that unless WE let him. So let’s not let him have our sister.
I am so glad that we have such an awesome God! He is still on the throne and if that is the case then what do we have to fear. He is in control and I know His will is being done in Tana’s life to get her back to where He wants her to be.
