Guys…I too have a prayer request. I visited an old friend from school in chicago on saturday. She comes from a pretty religion-less background. She said that she kinda has a natural ‘screw religion’ type of attitude. Her parents have long been divorced, she’s dabbled in drugs, sex and whatever. this past summer though, a very dear friend died in a motorcycle accident. A guy that she was certain that she was supposed to spend the rest of life with. Since he died, she’s been seeing things in a different light. A better light. She saw how her friend had lived his life and what things were important to him. (i didn’t get the impression that he was a christian or anything though) she has since been researching religion more. and she has really felt a connection with this faith called, “Baha’i”. I’d never heard of it before, but it’s from the Middle East. Some guy named Bahá’u’lláh , started it back in the 1800s. They are all about unity and world unification and racial unification and unification again. They believe that all world religions are pretty much the same thing. They believe that Jesus was simply a messenger of ‘God’ along with Abraham, Moses, Buddha, Krishna, Muhammad and some Zeroaster guy, and their Bahá’u’lláh guy………it just sounds so bogus and shallow to me. And even though she’s buying into this Baha’i stuff, i’m excited that she’s searching! She’s looking for Jesus! ………….I’m just asking you guys for some prayer that through her search for religion that she will end up back at the feet of Jesus. And feel his unconditional love for her and get an idea of what his purpose is for her.
She doesn’t respond to ‘preaching’ or anything like that, she has to figure it out for herself, so i just told her all about our trip and what we learned at training and what we’re going to be doing next year. And I told her that I pray for her.
Pray for Amber yo! And that she’ll find her way to her daddy that cares for her more than she’s ever known!
