Hi All,
Hope you all have had a wonderful weekend. Mine has been full of great social
events, wonderful friends and lots of time with my sister, who was visiting
from
Oregon. The highlight
was Saturday, an amazing
Southern California day.
I got to spend hours on the beach with lots of friends, beach volleyball, time
in the ocean, and a beautiful Switchfoot concert and surf completion.
The day was so good it felt unreal. It was even more unreal when I read
the signs posted everywhere that by being at the beach concert we were consenting
to be on MTV’s broadcast of the event. As Switchfoot played I sensed in a
powerful way how much God was working in this place. After the concert I
went to a friends house for a BBQ on the beach, and stayed up till 2 talking
laughing and listening to the waves pound the sand. I’m finding that as
I think, pray and prepare for next year I am actually enjoying my time here
more. I figure that there are two ways of dealing with transitions,
checking out, or soaking up the moments knowing you only get one chance at each
of them. Every day I am praying that God gives me the strength to resist
checking out and instead soak up the relationships God has for me at this
time. I desperately want to view my life knowing that it’s not forever
and making the most of the moments that are entrusted to me.
