What is the World Race you say?
It is more than just a mission trip to 11 countries around the world for 11 months. It is squatting to pee then realizing you have peed all over your pants and all down your legs. Standing naked in a small room splashing cold water on yourself to bathe while mosquitoes bite your butt. Questioning your contact everyday what meat you are eating to make sure it isn’t dog or cat. Playing with dirty children everyday, knowing it is inevitable that you are going to get lice. Slapping yourself multiple times trying to kill mosquitoes. Wearing the same outfit for weeks straight. Waking up to a symphony of farm animal noises at all hours of the night, having a baby wipe be the best way to sanitize your hands, Not shaving for a while do to the amount of mosquito bits on your legs.
The World Race is about letting go of all comforts, and picking up the love, grace, and mercy of Christ and sharing it with others around the world.
The World Race is preaching to small little churches where there is only a handful of believers, teaching Bible stories to young children who have never heard of Jesus, praying for the blind and the sick, tickling children and laughing so hard it hurts, helping those in need put food on the table for their family, studying the Bible together with those who don’t speak the same language as you, visiting people everyday having the faith to step out and share about the love of Jesus in the most awkward situations. Sing songs and lifting our hands to our Maker in thanks for all He has done for us.
The World Race is trying to live like Christ did on this earth.
