We got up at 5:00 this morning to prepare breakfast for Pastor Marcos and his family. We made pancakes over the fire, eggs, coffee and served coffee, orange juice, and watermelon. They seemed to enjoy being served and one of the boys ate about 6 pancakes. They laughed and joked throughout the whole meal. It is amazing how quickly they warmed up to our team of six and welcomed us in.
After breakfast we packed up our things, took some picture, and said goodbye. Rosalia and her mother had tears in their eyes as we walked away. It hurts my heart when we say goodbye and they cry. I cannot say, “I’ll see you later” or even “I’ll see you again”. But, it does mean a lot to me to know that they will miss us. I really enjoyed staying with this family and was encouraged by their constant joy in life. Pastor Marcus shared a verse with us saying that we shared the gospel not through words, but through love, so that was also encouraging.
We took the slow boat back over to Mildred’s where I took my first shower in four days. She treated us to Domino’s Pizza. It was the best Domino’s Pizza I ever had. Then she turned on the TV and Gilmore Girls was on. I love Gilmore Girls! So, for the evening I felt like I was back in the United States. It was nice for an evening.
