Rachel sent me an email today about an email she received through her blog. It was one of the scam emails where a lady describes receiving a large sum of money that she wants to give to you. This served as a good reminder for us all…
1) Anyone and everyone can access your blog and many people you don’t know will read it. Through your blog people can contact you through email. Remember to keep private information private in both these locations.
2) Never give out personal information that someone could use against you. My personal rule is that names are okay, numbers are not. For example, I will tell you my hometown, but not my street address. I’ll tell you my last name, but not my phone number.
3) When it comes to money, people can click the support me! link on your blog. You never need to give out information related to your personal account. We do have strangers who want to donate to you. Your stories will inspire them and activate them for the Kingdom. But you never need to give them information other than “click the Support Me! link on my blog.” Any more help than that, have them contact the office.
