We have been in Nsoko, Swaziland for almost one week now. We are here with one of the June Race teams, Team Lego. We have a sweet connection where we are camping at the foothills of a mountain range in Swazi. We have set up our own fire pit with haybails and have made ourselves at home (pics to follow soon).
As for ministry, we are working to establish, build, and better 4 existing care points in the nearby area. Care points are places where orphan children can come to be fed either once/twice a day and also receive some basic education. All four care points are at different stages and eventually want to be made into mercy homes which I mentioned in my last blog. We did two VBS’ at two of the locations. We have made measurements for a fence around one and are awaiting the go-ahead from the community to build a more secure building. In the meantime, we are planning a teacher training day, creating educational materials (ie. Flashcards, posters, etc), planning daily kids programs and teen programs. Much of what we have been doing now is setting up and organizing projects. Our goal is to have the construction underway and the beginning the kids programs starting on July 1st. Please continue to pray for:
-favor in efficiency
-communication
-forward motion with projects
-wisdom and creativity for kids/teens here
-teacher training day
-spiritual atmosphere here and meeting spiritual needs.
