Today is a milestone. It represents the beginning of the last month before I leave. I can’t believe that the time is almost here! I remember getting accepted at the end of March and thinking I had eight months to prepare, where did the time go? I know that during the last eight months that God has encouraged me, challenged me, stretched me, and healed me. As I mentioned yesterday, my blog theme is “I saw Him.” As I look back over the past few months I have seen Him. I have seen Jesus in family and friends as they encouraged me and supported me through good and hard times. I have seen Jesus at work as He has worked through me to love on the people I work with as well as seeing Him as one of “the least of these.” Mother Teresa said, “Each one of them is Jesus in disguise.” I have seen Jesus in the beauty of creation – in the warmth of the sun and the cool of the wind. I can look back and continue to tell about the ways in which I have seen Him, because they are many, but this gives me great hope that there will be more “Jesus Sightings” to come.
Please continue to pray for me as I prepare to leave all that is familiar. The last few weeks have consisted of a roller coaster of emotions from enthusiasm to sadness to anxiety to curiosity. I’m pretty sure it will be that way up until I leave. Please pray that I would continue to experience God’s peace as I leave my family and friends. Pray that the people I am leaving behind would also experience that peace.
