The WHO, WHAT, WHEN, WHERE, HOW, and WHY of The World Race.
WHO
Hi, I’m Ellen and I like warm hugs. (Frozen reference.. if you haven’t seen it, you must..) But more importantly, who will I be traveling with? Meet the wonderful squad of beautiful people I will be traveling/living/growing/celebrating/struggling/laughing/crying with for the next year!
Friends and family, please allow me to introduce you to J Squad.
WHAT
What will I be doing for 11 months? The goal is to share the gospel… to open hearts to WHO Jesus is and why knowing Him is a pretty big deal! 🙂 Of course, you never know what may happen or what the specific need may be until being present. I am SO excited to see what our God has in store for me and the rest of my squad. I will keep you posted on what exactly we will be doing in each country, so please subscribe to this blog for eventual updates!
WHEN
When will I be leaving? I will be leaving the country at the end of August and traveling to Haiti. FIRST, I will be attending a training camp from July 12th-19th. This will take place in Atlanta, Georgia. Prayers would be much appreciated during these times of traveling.. Along with any other time 🙂
WHERE
So, where am I going again? I can’t believe you don’t remember.. I mean, there are JUST eleven countries 🙂

HOW
How am I going on this adventure? THROUGH YOUR SUPPORT. Thank you to all of you who have supported me financially and prayerfully up to this point. I truly cannot thank you enough! If you are reading this and are finding yourself wanting to know more, PLEASE feel free to contact me. I would love to talk to you personally about what God is doing in my heart. I do have a chunk of money left to raise, but I know it is in God’s hands. After all, you can only raise so much working at the family feed store. Sorry, Dad. ANYWAY, I would love to have a team of prayer warriors and I’d ask you to prayerfully consider joining me in this adventure!
WHY
Ha! I feel as if this is a question I’d love to answer in person with you. When in doubt, bullet points.. Because I get off topic REAL quick.
- I was introduced to The World Race through one of my best friends, who is currently on the race, living in Swaziland! Please check out her adventure at www.bethanyfristad.org
- I traveled to Haiti last summer and knew my experience with mission work was not over yet, but never imagined committing to 11 months. Actually, I specifically remember thinking.. “Thank GOODNESS I’m not doing that World Race thing like Bethany.. 11 months would feel like eternity.. “
God has such a good sense of humor, seriously.
- I’m here now because I believe this is exactly where God wants me to be. He has called me into this adventure and to do so with no expectations. I am going to do my best to remain open to whatever joys or obstacles He places in front of me.
