Okay so you have probably been waiting for this post. It finally hit me today, I am no longer in Kansas anymore……….I’m on The World Race. I’m going to be completly honest and say that I have kinda been on cloud 9 for the last week. Well lets just say the cloud has disappeared and I’m free falling.

Hurry up and wait. That is our new favorite phrase to descride our time so far in Guatemala. We rush around to make sure we arrive at our destination for the prearranged time only to find that we end up waiting around for a good hour. No joke. I’m not exagerating. As you all know that does not float my boat. I am all about efficiency and time management at home. I don’t know how to relax because I’ve been on the GO for the last 5 years. Plus it does not help that I attended college in New York where the mentality is fast, fast, fast. So here I am in Gutemala where I swear time is a foreign concept. I mean don’t get me wrong, I have experienced this before and was expecting it to happen this whole year. I just have to sit back, relax, and breathe in the life the Lord has blessed me with.

We have already been thrown into full ministry and we are less than one week into this journey. We have already walked the neighborhood steets praying where we were able to pray with a man who has been living with Polio for the last 7 years and with this adorable old lady who needs an oxygen tank to get through the day. We were able to play futball at a nearby park with some locals. We spent yesterday running a children’s program in the morning and in the afternoon we helped with a free clothes drive. Today we attended a church service in the morning where we led the children’s church, followed by picking up trash in the same park we played soccer at, and this evening we led another church service. Oh yeah, and when I say “we did” something that will always mean the Lord worked through us. We are all, already at a point of exhaustion where we are unable to accomplish anything unless the the Spirit is present and working through us.

So as much as the difficulty of this coming year is already setting in, the Lord has impressed me with a great sense of thankfulness.

~ I am thankful for the rooster that wakes me at 5 am because that means I have ears to hear it.
~ I am thankful for the bathroom I share with 7 other people because that means I have running water.
~I am thankful for the plate of rice and beans because that means I have food and won’t go hungry.

So I may be free falling from cloud 9 but it’s all good cause I know I’m falling into the hands of my God and the inheritance and promises He has for me.

Until Next Time
