The past few months of life have been absolutely crazy. I graduated from LSU on May 17 (Hurray!) and left the next day for my summer job in Colorado. I am loving life here in the Rocky Mountains and I will be here until I leave for training camp on July 13. I wanted to send out an update as well as some information for those of you who would like to get involved with my journey.
Here is how you can get involved:
- PRAY!!! Seriously, this trip will probably be one of the most challenging experiences of my life. I will be living and working in some difficult circumstances and I would greatly appreciate your commitment to pray for me and with me. Did I mention I will be living out of a backpack for the whole trip?
- GIVE. The cost of this trip is $15,500, which seems like an impossible number. But with a lot of people giving a little, this is totally possible. I have already been blessed with some donations, so I currently need to raise $11,189.74. I have met my first deadline! Thank you so much to everyone who has given so far! My next deadline is August 14 and I need to have $6,500 in my account in order to leave with my squad in September. The good news is I only need $2,189.74 to meet that deadline! With God all things are possible.
- You can sign up to give monthly or you can give a one time donation through my blog at amandagoodroe.theworldrace.org or you can mail a check to Adventures in Missions (The World Race’s Parent Organization)
- If 55 people donate $40 each, I will meet my next deadline to leave with my squad in Spetember!
- All donations made through Adventures in Missions are tax deductible.
3. SHARE! One of the coolest things about this trip in my opinion is that I will be blogging the whole time! You can follow along with me as I travel to Romania, Bulgaria, Albania, Malaysia, China, Kenya, Uganda, Rwanda, Philippines, Thailand, and Cambodia. I will be sharing stories of what we are doing in each country, what God is doing in my heart through the journey, and the stories of the people I meet along the way.
