In 2005, when I was 15, I quit basketball with my best friend and picked up golf. It didn't take long before I fell in love with the game. I love the memories I made with my high school team and treasure every round I have played with my Dad.

When my World Race route changed, removing our final destination of the Philippines and adding Ireland as our third country, I quickly thought about the golf courses of Ireland. I put the dream of playing on an Ireland course way up on a top shelf, knowing it would cost a lot of money and would be a low priority next to daily ministry.

It was only a couple days into our Ireland adventure when my teammate, Christian, met a man named Hutch. Hutch is a generous fellow with the goal to serve the World Race squads while they stay in Coleraine. Hutch would be the man who made my dream of golfing in Ireland come true. On the squads first day off, Hutch arranged for seven of us to go golfing.

Last week I borrowed some golfing clothes, hopped in Hutch's van with my squad mates and headed to a par 3 golf course. (The course we were going to just so happened to be the same course that Graeme McDowell grew up on!)

I couldn't believe my eyes. The course was beautiful, Hutch hooked us up and we didn't pay for anything, and I had some great shots 🙂

God really does care about my every need and I think he was planning this from the beginning. He knew I was going to quit basketball and pick up golf and he knew my route was going to change to Ireland. He knew Hutch was going to get to know Christian and be able to give us a free round of golf. As the theme of my Race continues to come back to God as the Perfect Planner, I have nothing but a joyful heart full of thanksgiving for all the Lord has done.
