Swaziland is a beautiful country. From the moment I entered I was surprised and amazed by it's beauty. And being here at El Shaddai is no different. I don't think I could ever get tired of the mountains. Of sunrises and sunsets. Of clouds rolling in and cows meandering by. It is a beautiful country and the people are no different. The children are so full of life and the women are so welcoming. But for all Swaziland has going for it, there is a lot that is not ok.
It is not ok that this country is dying off. That Satan is continuing to tell lie after lie and finding people to believe it.
It is not ok that AIDS is spreading at an alarming rate.
It is not ok that men believe the lie that sleeping with a virgin will cure them.
It is no ok that innocent children are born with the disease because of lack of medical treatment.
It is not ok that these people are on target to become extinct , yes, these beautiful people are projected to not exist by 2050.
It is no ok that the children, the generation that has the power to change the future, are being malnourished and abused.
It is not ok that they are forced to become adults far too early, that many of them have too much responsibility placed in them because their parents have died.
It is not ok that education in not a priority for every single child in this country.
It is not ok.
But God is in control.
I believe this generation can and will rise up. They can make a difference. The children at El Shaddai can make a difference and it is my prayer that they will be the ones who take responsibility for themselves and their nation. That one day we will laugh at the statistics because all we will see is a beautiful thriving country.
